Hello, ISRA Racers!
My name is Nick de Wachter, and I had the distinct honor and pleasure of designing and fabricating the 2023 ISRA Worlds trophies.
Originally meant for the 2021 event, Matt Bruce asked me if i wanted to provide the trophies for the Atlantic City event. When I asked him what he had in mind, his reply was: "whatever you want."

I am a CNC lathe machinist and programmer by profession. So, immediately I thought about a roulette table casino hotel and slowly some ideas were forming until I started programming them. For you CadCam guys, no this was no CadCam, yet all was done programming on the machine. Roughly 200 hours of programming went into these trophies. For example, I did not like the standard font for engraving the numbers in the squares. So, yes, I drew each of them in G code to get nicer shaped numbers. Same of course for all lettering and images around the base.
They were made on a 12-tool normal CNC lathe, each trophy taking four hours to be turned and milled.
I hope these trophies reflect the amount of preparation and skill presented by each racer winning one of these trophies.
