Back before there was vacuum-formed bodies guys would have to create their own favorite body style. I found this in a box of slot cars I just picked up, Looks like the underside was carved out to fit an early Strombecker chassis. Body measures 5-1/2" long, 2-1/4" wide and axle to axle is 3-1/4". Looks like a Ferrari type design. Body is super light, must be balsa wood.

Don't know what to do with it, needs to be finish and polished out.

It might be an old Mercedes racer. Whoever carved it did a nice job. If some areas inside the body could be thinned, it would make a good silicone mold for casting resin copies.

I would be interested in that to do a clear body. A little narrow for a womp, but a set of side pipes would fix that. Maybe flare the fenders a bit. 3 1/4" wb is good using the front axle hole. Add a windshield and driver, oh yeah.

Don, PM me if you're interested.
