Is it steel or aluminum?
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

It looks like it is possibly the first aluminum I15 chassis made, from Gunther Fass.
IIRC, they were milled.
PS-after looking at it again, it looks like the motor box angle is too shallow for an I15 motor.

Maybe first production from Gunther... I raced against his first I15 aluminum chassis in May of 1992 at Long Island Hot Tracks in East Northport, NY - on the Hasse purple track. He failed tech after a tip that he used steel pillow blocks. :-) He had to change them before he could pass. And that chassis had really wide rails.
Alleged amateur racer.
Mostly just play with lots of cars.
Able to maintain slot cars with a single bound.
Faster than a speeding Womp.
More powerful than a 36D.

Why would the steel pillow blocks be illegal?

Why would the steel pillow blocks be illegal?
No spring steel was allowed rearward past a certain point on the chassis.
Similar to the IRRA rule.
Bronze was the choice on I15 chassis that used pillow blocks.
When Koford came out with an aluminum I15 perimeter chassis in 1993, it used aluminum pillow blocks and motor brace.
