Here's a short two-minute night racing video from the recent IRRA rules four-hour enduro race held at my home track. We ran the last hour of the race with the raceway lights and windows totally blacked out. There were a few lights left on for the first minute of the first nighttime heat to allow the racers to charge up the light kit capacitors but after that it was lights out for the next 59 minutes of the race. Everyone thought it was really cool and a great time was had by all. Surprisedly the lap times were only a tenth or two slower than the daylight times.

I always like to have a 'full moon' shining during a night race. It saves on the 'glare factor' for old eyes from turn marshalls head lights.

Cool. What is the footprint of that track?

I look forward to racing at this track more than any other race!!

1) Track is awesome!
2) Food is fantastic.
3) My teammate builds the best cars!!
4) Racing under just headlights is the coolest.

Thank you, Jay, for another great time!!

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

What is the footprint of that track?

It's about 35' long by 10' wide, I call it Orange Crush since its similar to a reverse AMRC Orange track. It's just under 90' running length.

I'm a proponent of night racing. I sponsored a race in 2003? But, I had the track hang black lights for a added weirdness factor. Can't wait to set up my home track for it!

Thanks, Jay!

I'm curious what was used for lights on the car?

Hi Steve:

The lights were a Slot.it SISP16C Universal Lighting Kit. The lights would stay on for about 30 secs when the car deslotted.
