Going through my cars today I found this one, which looks like a Ford Mk IV to me. Maybe the body doesn't go with the chassis. Pretty sure it's the only Auto World brass chassis that I own. Not sure if the chassis was sold alone or usually as a complete car.  Any info would be appreciated. I want to say some were pictured in some old Auto World catalogs, although I haven't checked to be sure.

These were originally Atlas chassis and motors. When they pulled out of slots, Auto World bought up large amounts of their stocks and began offering their own kits with vac-form bodies from different manufacturers, Cox gears and various wheels and guides. Not sure about the AW marking, maybe added by Auto World, unless they had a few more of these chassis produced with their own logo.

Very likely your car was sold as a kit by Auto World.

Thanks again, Don; good to know. I'll have a look at some of the old Auto World catalogs to see what exactly they sold on those.

That body looks like the Cox that was sourced from Lancer for their Daytona series. There probably was a surplus of those bodies and ended up in Auto World kits.

I checked some of the old Auto World catalogs from '68 to '70 and came up with some of the ads for what Oscar and company were selling. Here they are:

Thanks Ed, yep, those are the ones I was referring to. Looks like your MKIV is a real remnant.
