I restored and enhanced this scratch-built inline car I purchased from a Michigan collector.

The body, chassis, and guide were retained.  The chassis design looks like it is based on Jerry Cowan's floppy pan chassis from 1967/1968.

The cool precision-built chassis was cleaned, and the pan movement was adjusted.

I flared the rear fender lips for more tire clearance.  The lettering and body paint were touched up.  A Dynamic brand driver, intake velocity stacks, roll bar, and rear spoiler were added.  I do not recall the brand of the Lola body.

The threaded front wheels were replaced with Russkit set screw wheels.  The modern rear wheels were replaced with vintage set screw ones (not sure of the brand).  Rear tires are now H&R fish foam.  Wheel inserts are Russkit.  The rewound 26D motor in the car, even though it ran great, was replaced with a Champion 617 motor.  The spur gear is now a Weldun.  The lead wire is Marklin, and the new pickup brushes are Phase lll.

Thanks to the Michigan collector for selling me this wonderful slot car.  Time for a track test.

Hi Rodney, what is your thinking on cans that have one window blocked?

I have always put the heavy side down, less chance of sucking in debri too. Love to hear your thoughts.

Is it better cooling open side down ? :)

Thanks everyone.  Martin, I like one hole motor cans with the opening down.  Hopefully for better cooling.  I have not had debris enter yet.  Fingers crossed.

Does anyone know what brand the Lola body is?

NOT the same as the Revell. Not a re-pop either. I took a pic of a body like yours next to the Revell.

Take a look. But my body has no label so ????

Thanks Martin.  I think you are right.  It is kind of wide and still tall.  "tall and wide"
