Five locals and two of our old friends from Cottage Grove showed up to race Womp Legends and Dirt Devil at STR on 10/30/23.

• In the Womp IROC race it was Dustin, Bob and Lowell for first through third respectively.
• In Dirt Devil it was Ron, Bob and Dustin for first through third respectively.

Editors Note: The Race Director did not supply fast lap times so these were estimated. Because fast lap times were estimated, consistency figures should be disregarded as well.
 

IROC Womp Legends is a new class at STR and the brainchild of Mark and Bob. Four nearly identical Womp chassis with Legend bodies were set up and assigned a particular lane. Drivers simply rotated through the lanes/cars in two minute timed heats. Feedback was quite positive and this class may become part of the normal rotation at STR.
 

 

 
 
 

 


The Dirt Devil class is one of our quickest and best handling. Sophisticated hinged, in-line chassis are mated to slammed bodies yielding a very low center of gravity. Many competitors have migrated to the 1/25 AMT Short Track, Late Model Sportsman cars like the one shown in the image above. Others have created their own renditions using everything from 60s Mustangs to a full size 70 Dodge.
Ron took the top step of the podium in Dirt Devil while Bob was second and Dustin was third. See results below
