How can you tell if a chassis was scratchbuilt vs. a manufactured (or ready made kit)? Or is it just a matter of identifying it as one from a known manufacturer? Picked this up for a few bucks and hoping to learn more about it.

There really aren't any Manufactured Retro chassis. They are all build by either the racer or a few builders that sell online. That chassis looks like a mish mosh of every early chassis gimmick from probably 10-12 years ago. No idea who may have built it though :) .

Aero pans usually made from .016 or .025 brass.

Thanks for the feedback! Obviously Im new to retro racing, so learning a lot. These are the other four I collected, so Ill just have to build them all up and see how they feel.
