Check th chassis motor boxes. If a chassis has a closed motor box & the motor sits in top of the chassis, then it will fit D-cans, C-cans, & FK cans. The chassis with an open motor, check which motor fits in the motor box hole. I'm thinking JK's open motor box chassis had a version to fit C-cans & another that fit FK motors. I don't think they made an open motor box chassis for a D-can.
Your JK Cheetah 21 above has a closed motor box.

Here are a couple of examples of the two different motor boxes for the two different size cans.
The first picture is of a C11 that I got with a 16D motor in it. You can see that there's a tab on the gear side of the opening that's flat on this chassis, and turned up in the Aeolos chassis under it. It's the tab you'd solder the motor to on the Aeolos. The D can is large enough that it has to sit on top of the chassis, while the C can/H7/Euro can mounts flush with the bottom of the chassis. Like you said, the JK website seems to show pictures of the exact same chassis, but I believe that's the difference in the open style motor box. So the two C11s and the X25 in your picture should be the C can version, and would also fit the Hawk 7 style motors and the Euro cans like a Hawk 6 or a ProSlot Speedball.
The second picture shows both versions of the C21. The one on the right, underneath the other one is the D can version, and the left one on top is the C can version that comes with a Hawk 7 style motor. The difference is that on the D can chassis, the motor bracket is at a greater angle to the axle, for greater clearance for the larger D can. I believe that yours is the C can version. It's worth noting that both versions of the C21 have the motor screw holes at the 6:00 and 9:00 positions, for mounting a Hawk 7 style motor, and neither hole will line up with the holes in a C or D can without some modification, so either one of those would have to be soldered in. The holes line up a little better on a Euro can motor, but it would still be ideal to solder those in, too.

The difference in the motor boxes is as Jason shows. On the gear side, the long tab that the motor solders to is closer to the bushing upright on the "D" can version. Going from the photos in post #1, it looks like these are all "D" can chassis, but you would have to compare them with known "C" can chassis.
Here are the chassis photos from the JK website;
Going from this, I would say that the top left chassis in the photo in post #1 is an X-25, top right is the original "D" can C-11 (note the serrated guide tongue), bottom right is the C-11 .025 thick pans and center section, bottom left is the C-21 with .035 pans and center section.
The original purpose of the C-21 series was to have a screw-in motor mount for home set and rental car versions. You can see the tab for that in Jason's photos.

Adam, did someone have a fire sale for armatures & chassis?

Kinda… I needed a C21 and Hawk 7 to race in a certain class here, so rather than just buy those, I bought 38 chassis and 41 motors/armatures which had those two things in the lotAdam, did someone have a fire sale for armatures & chassis?
Now I have to figure out what to do with all the rest. I figure I’ll build half and play with them for fun and sell the rest. And this is why my son, who just getting into racing, thinks it’s Christmas here every day!
