13 Arizona Garage Racers and Bob Newnum our own Professional Corner Marshall descended on my garage for the 14th running of our Black Friday event.

We set up the track and the tent and got some practice in. We had planned for eight races, hoping to run at least six but it wasn't to be, we only ran four but those were very entertaining!

We started with a Driver's Meeting...

Some will remember that in one our previous races I had to remind folks not to reach under the light bridge and so I brought out the sword to emphasize that.

Some were having difficulty remembering so this time I brought out the veterinary GLOVE!

That seemed to get their attention!

Our first race was Revo Slot Gr.2

Our spec rear tires are Quick Slicks Firm silicones and allow Quick Slicks Zero Grip front tires as an option. We also allow adding weight on top of the chassis but otherwise we keep them stock.

This was the first time running them on a big track and it was a blast!

When it was all over Bob Scott was the big winner of the little cars!

The second race was KC Kennedy's Padlock Motor Dynamics IROC.

These are '60's era cars using Dynamic chassis with Kemtron motors but topped with modern Dirt Late Model bodies from Caveman Bodeez.

We had tested them on the short track the week before and gave them a warm up but when the race started it was mayhem! It seemed everyone was crashing and so we stopped the race, dropped the voltage down to 9 from 11v and restarted the race but for some reason the same four drivers got shuffled around by the software...

So

Bob became Brandon

Brandon became Rick

Rick became Bob

For twelve heats and it worked!

It all settled down and as we got used to the cars it became a pretty good race.

We had a three way tie in the computer but when we sorted out where everyone had finished on track the final outcome was Lee, Titanium and Stan.

KC awarded Lee a Mossetti Patriot chassis for first place.

For those who have never seem a Kemtron motor here is one next to a modern FC-130. You can see why it's called a Padlock.

Race 3 was pretty cool because it was the rollout for a set of 3D printed chassis IROC cars that I have been building and Stan Ferris has been documenting on his YouTube channel and our AriZonaGarageRacing Facebook group. These are a set of four Fly BMW M-1 ProCars that are models of the actual ProCar series of races run in Europe and were similar in format to the IROC series in the U.S. I won't go into all the details here but you can go to Stan Ferris  on YouTube and see the continuing series of videos on how these were planned out and built and if he has finished editing maybe even this race.

Mike Pyska had Jim Armstrong had joined in at this point and we lost Rick Bachman who had another commitment so we were now 13 and to try to get more racing in we went from three minute heats to two minutes .

I had put a lot of work into these and happily we had a good race and put these through the wringer but they all held up and everyone seemed pleased at the end.

Check out Stan's videos and his interview of winner KC Kennedy

I sponsored the race and presented KC with a Policar Ferrari 126C2

Race #4 turned out to be our last race of the day. This class was What we call the Zack II "Small Wheel" cars. 1/24th NASTE brass chassis that tip the scales at 180 grams +/- and have 25k motors smaller diameter tires than our original class that runs on NASCAR 1/24th scale size tires. We ran them as an IROC race.

These things ROCK!

The heaviness makes for great handling and the 25k power zips them right around the track with a good balance between these two things. A nice light Lexan GTP body to top it all off make them easy to drive fast.

Once again we had to sort out who was where on the track since there was passing on the last lap and the final order was Rick Schonfeld, Stan and Herb on the podium after a tough race!

This was another great all day race in the books.

It is a lot of work when the track is larger than the garage and everything has to be set up and torn down and stuffed back in here at the end of the day.

I couldn't do it without all the hard work of the guys who help me put these things on. One of these days I'm going to find a bigger place!

I'll circle back to this and add some pics but I think it's time to get it posted
