It's official, and I hate to be writing it.
I was there over the weekend assisting with the takedown of the tracks.
They've been purchased and are going to a new home in Asheville, NC.
What else is there to say? Sad to see it close. Glad the tracks are getting a new home and bring racing to a different area.

New owners - One Stops Slot Car Track
I was told they're building a new building that will have 50,000 sf for the raceway.

My Biltmore Mansion joke wasn't that much of an exaggeration. Lol

I visited Asheville and the mansion back in 2010, with my wife, after a small vacation in Nashville and running the Tail of the Dragon in my Cayman.
IIRC, admission was $56 which shocked me until I discovered how big the grounds were and that there were different attractions.
I thought I was just going to see a fancy eatin' table for vittle's and a nice cement pond.
Our buddy Mark Rosenwinkel and his wife, actually stopped in Asheville a year or so ago, on the way back from Florida, to scout it out with the thought of possibly retiring there.

Yes Mike, what they told me is they're building a 100,000 (100x100) building, and HALF of it is going to the slot car business.
From what I gather, they already have several businesses including a 1:1 racetrack.
