Doesn't really matter who posted this long link. What matters is what it contains. I've deleted one character from each link so they don't activate.
https:/www.hagerty.com/media/market-trends/hagerty-insider/auctions-hagerty-insider/the-10-biggest-auction-sales-from-2023/?utm_source=SFMC&utm_medium=email&utm_content=MED_UN_NA_EML_UN_UN_WeekendRoadTrip&hashed_email=eab98077a0eb8f46237840d11d283eb9319c230249493b7743a0da50aaffc743&dtm_em=eab98077a0eb8f46237840d11d283eb9319c230249493b7743a0da50aaffc743
Everything after this portion of the link:
https:/www.hagerty.com/media/market-trends/hagerty-insider/auctions-hagerty-insider/the-10-biggest-auction-sales-from-2023
is tracking info for advertisers and others.
BTW you can leave the "/" after the "2023"; it makes no difference.
But when posting links from webpages you are on, I strongly suggest you delete everything from "/?utm" to the end of the link. If you paste the links above into your browser (adding back in the second "/" I deleted after "https:/" to deactivate them), you'll see that both links go to the same page.
Assuming you are someone who doesn't want to play into the hands of the companies wanting to see where you go and post on the web. That would be me...

And yet, many who feel the same way as Greg are on Facebook, InstaGram, YouTube, and Twiitter (X)...
And also use trackable credit and debit cards for every purchase instead of cash.

Normally "share" articles come from the Hagerty media already vetted. That is because when you sign up as a Hagerty Driver's Club member, you check a series of boxes for advertisers you wish to receive ad materials from. But it looks like some others get through if you found offensive material in that mix. Since those links are supposed to be all advertisers of Hagerty, I didn't expect there would be any repercussions. I've patronized several of those advertisers when I was in a tight spot seeking some part or service. Never had a problem with any of them. In the future, I will be sure that only the short link is used.
By the way, in the links bar at the top of the screen, there is an icon that says "not secure". Since I have never had a problem with Slotblog, I have never worried about it.

Dave,
It's not that I find any of Hargety's advertisers offensive, it's that the extra code after the basic URL is used to track your activity n the web. It's that tracking, which is usually used to build profile of you and me in some giant database that is used to target you for various kinds of advertising. That's what I don't like.
The "not secure' warning you see has to do with Slotblog not paying each year for a current 'certificate.' Nothing at Slotblog has changed in this regard from the very beginning, but the browsers have all begun in the last few years to check for a current certificate and to add that warning if they don't see one. You are correct that it is nothing to worry about.

If you use Mozilla Firefox as I do, they give you the option, when you right-click on a link to copy it, to "copy without site tracking".
