14 racers for IRRA Stockcar and we ran 2 seven man races and combined the results.

Qualifying saw Duran Trujillo with a new Stockcar lap record of 3.96 with Garrett Sisk close behind.

Stockcar results.      TQ Duran Trujillo slowly pulled away to a comfortable win but the race for 2nd was a dogfight with 5 racers within 4 laps of each other fighting for the final podium spots!  Sam held on to 2nd with Chance 3rd.

I thought the rules stated that there could be nothing under the chassis, including tape?

You are correct. That tape on the underside of that chassis makes it illegal.

So should they not get DQ'd?

The rules do state that no tape is allowed on the bottom of the chassis, but it’s been common for regional series that utilize IRRA rules to use their own discretion.

we allowed tape on the bottom of cars for many years in the Penn Ohio Retro Series.

This same rule has been in place for many years. No tape on the bottom.

Tape/Lead: Lead weight may be added to a
chassis but may only be affixed to the top side of
the chassis. Strapping or other tape to control or
restrict movements is allowed but may only be
affixed to the top side of the chassis.

Piranha Raceway hasn't run many IRRA races. It might have just been an oversight, or it was something they choice to ignore.

I rarely race any longer and don't know about IRRA rules out here[So-Cal]. But, Didn't Pirahna Raceway start including IRRA rules to possibly draw some East coast/Midwestern racers out here? The CPC is a bigger event out here, but, yes, it could have been an oversight. Perhaps some of the IRRA tech folks could make it out to a So-Cal event and help out/race? Not a dig at anyone, I'm just asking. Like I said, I don't race much any longer; simply curious. Thanks.

I believe it was just an oversight. I believe they’re trying to ease into the IRRA classes. Really hoping that the CpC garners more support from more traveling racers, although I know it’s tough to afford.

Personally, I plan on making the Fall Brawl an annual trip…. Although I haven’t told my wife of this plan .

A motor is only as fast as the chassis it's in.
