In just a little over a week we will be racing at Hobbies, Slot Cars and RC Emporium in South Daytona, FL on Sunday February 26th.

There will be two classes run on the 6 lane King track, Stockcars and Can-Am.

A unique experience of mostly flat but very fast corners.

Due to its 6 lane construction, we will run 4 min heats per lane rather than the usual 3 to achieve the 24 minutes of usual run time.

Doors will open at 9am.

Pit pass - $8, Race entry is $15 per class.

Tech for Can-Am will open at 10:15. Qualify at 10:30.

30 min following Can-Am we will run Stockcars.

Hobbies, Slot Cars and RC Emporium
2400 S. Ridgewood Ave.

To All GRRR Racers...

Be sure to review all of the latest IRRA rules which can be found here: http://slotblog.net/topic/103104-2024-irra®-rules-update/

Note: Body thickness' will be checked to the present rules (see above link) and please make sure that your interiors are suitabley painted, detailed, and attached to the body in such a way that the driver could see forward out of the windshield, in other words not buried and sitting just on top of the chassis.

I love how the Stockcar race just made the cutoff date for the old body rules.  :o

Danny:

It was just a date that the IRRA BoD felt would give people enough time to check their bodies and make sure they were in compliance with the new rules, no magic about it.  What's interesting is that the "new" Stockcar body thickness rule isn't really all that new.  All along the bodies were supposed to be pulled from .015" thick material and by doing that it should have yielded the thickness' stated in new rules all along.  The really big difference is actually how we are measuring the bodies as of March 1st.

I definitely agree and understand.

For me I showed up to the 2021 Fall Brawl Race and that's when I started seeing thin bodies.

The track has been cleaned and broke-in for the upcoming race.

My Can-Am hit a 4.591 on green.

The record is 4.553 on orange.

Here's the race report for the GRRR race held on Greg Walker's beautiful 6-lane King track at S. Daytona on 2-25-2024.

We had a good turnout with 23 entries even though 5 or 6 of our regulars could not make the race this time.

Good times.

I love this track so much.

A racer needs straight away speed and a good handling car for the flat turns.
