I know he and Andy had been close for decades, so if anyone is in regular contact with Andy, please pass this along.

In addition to all his contributions to the slot car world, Lou was very active in the 'Gift of Life' program helping provide healthcare for children with heart- elated problems. He was directly responsible for saving many young lives over the years.
Knowing Lou, he probably just sold Saint Peter a track time card.
RIP, Lou.

My memories of Lou are many. The one that stands out the most is walking into Elmsford Raceway after 18 years of not setting foot there, Lou looks at me from behind the counter and said, "Bob Schlain good to see you" after all that time.
RIP Lou

think it was 66 or 67,heard there was a knew track opening in Yonkers,a huge American raceway w steering wheels.Day after day would ride my bike to see the progress and one day he let me in still under construction it was Lou he was the manager .After many crash and burn victories Lou kinda took me and my brother under his wings.Showing what scale racing looked like think he was also a polks guy(these guys to me always had that halo something special lite)Took us to his club track that was unreal you ran scale or you didn't run at all.Nice memories of a great human being .Anybody that ran at Elmsford felt this vibe it was like a racing with friends.Lou and Barbara loved all us guys .Watched all his children grow up at the store, and became great friends with all of them.So on behalf of all may he rest in peace and my heart is with the family..........luv you guys Marty P not surfing today

I was invited over to his house with Michael along with Bill Pinch when he had the Worlds there. Really a nice and friendly family. Lou story. He had a Kalio chassis for me behind the counter all paid for and he would not let me have it until he had confirmation from Bill that it was paid for. Another Lou story. I was there with Bill looking at the counter and asked if if I could go back for a closer look. I was denied. Bill told him that probably cost him a couple of hundred bucks as I always bought a lot of stuff. This did not sway him, still denied. Michael did let us into the distributorship warehouse when Lou was not around. That was an experience. Rest in Peace Lou.

Thanks for the assist, Greg.
Posting pics here is about as easy as racing on the Nuvolari.
