We used to use a brass tubing spacer where your nicely machined hub is used to keep a crown gear from backing off.

at that time I did this because in my crazy teenage head I intended to balance the weight of the screws by mounting them opposite each other!

Did you have hollow set screws back then?

Next the body...
This project was initially born to create a race car to participate in the Cuca day in Roncole but very soon it gradually proved to be unsuitable for complying with precise rules (IMHO somewhat absurd for a category called "Prototypes"). Rather it became a "what if" more in keeping with the spirit of the times when "run what ya brung" and the only rule was about the max width.
Having made these considerations, I think that the body will have a front diaplane and a rear spoiler.

Amazing! I love that!I modified my cucaracha with the same spoiler and front wing , I did not modify the chassis and kept it stock except for new wheels and a hotter motor . Performance was better with the body modifications . The car really hugged the curves . Here is a pic of my cuc.
I will definitely copy this solution in the final version, thanks a lot Don.
P.S.could you post a picture of the bottom, I wonder what is the purpose of those screws..

That air scoop is very cool! The purpose of the screws is to hold the wing onto the body , the air scoop behind the driver helps to keep the motor cool .
👍🙂
