Bob Hannibal Hanna murdered five innocent competitors at Electron Raceway on 3/11/24. Victims begged for mercy but were bludgeoned to death with two different weapons; an OSCAR based RX7 and a True Scale Enzo. The crime scene was littered with body parts (plastic, of course).
Race Summary
Six slot-heads showed up to race Clubman and GT1 on 3/11/24. Track conditions were excellent and new records were set.
In Clubman it was Bob, Rich and Mark for first through third respectively
- Bob set a new record of 90.3 laps for an OSCAR based Clubman
- Rich set a new record of 89.3 laps for a True Scale based Clubman
- Mark posted a personal best to finish third with his OSCAR based Z car
- Bob set a new record of 98.6
- Ron posted a personal best with his Toyota GT-One to finish third
The True Scale Clubman class is ostensibly designed for short wheelbase, relatively narrow production sports cars. Competitors may select from one of many H-Bracket production chassis and use either Deathstar or ProSlot 16D power. To keep costs down, I also allow OSCAR based Clubman rides to participate. The OSCAR Can-Am chassis can be used topped with a Clubman body, so only a body swap is needed.
Editors Note: Since the last Clubman race, Bob swapped out 16D power to a Cheetah 4 in his RX7, which should improve handling and consistency.
Clubman Current Race
In heat #1 it became apparent that Bobs Cheetah 4 powered RX7 was the class of the field. Rich and Ron with their True Scale Porsche 959s tried to keep up but to no avail; the RX7 was at least .1 seconds per lap quicker. Even with a crash, Bob took a half lap lead in that heat and won the race, finishing with a record of 90.3 laps. Rich managed to keep it close posting 89.3 laps (a new record for a True Scale based Clubman car) but, in the end couldnt match Bobs pace.
The battle for the bottom step of the podium was between Ron, driving a True Scale 959 and Mark, driving an OSCAR based Nissan Z. Ron was first in the barn with 83.8 laps. Mark entered the final heat with 62.9 laps and needed a full 21 laps to overtake Ron. In the end Mark finished third edging out Ron by a single section.
Lowells Nissan Z was quite competitive, turning a fast lap within a whisker of the leaders. However, several offs kept him from challenging for a podium spot
Wide and low slung GT1 bodies coupled with Hawk 7 power, make this our quickest and best handling class. Looking at the historical data, it would appear that Bob, Rich, Ron and Lowell will be fighting for the podium spots.
GT1 Current Race
Bob and his Enzo were in top form this evening and no one could challenge him for the top step of the podium. In heat #1 Bob set the pace posting nearly 25 laps, about two laps ahead of Rich and Ron. Bob was able to widen the gap to more than three laps by the end of the race setting a new record of 98.6 laps.
Meanwhile, Rich and Ron were battling for second place. In heat #1 Rich edged out Ron by a couple of sections but Rich managed to widen the gap to nearly two laps by the end of the race. Ron put in a very good effort with the Toyota GT-One to finish third with 93.3 laps.
Editors Note: Rons Jaguar XJR8LM is a quicker ride and, if selected could have given Rich a run for his money
