Would have been a good story ending about what happened to Eliminator after it was stolen. Truth is, it was never stolen. Just some MTV rumor started to help kick up ratings. The car is at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. 

 

Or maybe this model is an engineering concept of a space vehicle to use to retrieve Musk's Tesla Roadster that is still floating around up there somewhere.
