It was with infinite sadness that I learned today Shirley Harrington has passed away after a few weeks in hospice care.

Shirley and Steve Harrington operated Raceworld Speedway Slotcars in LaGrange, GA, for a number of years, exactly how long I do not know. I do know I raced there many times and later promoted SERRA series events there as well. We always had a great time and good racing at Raceworld.

Shirley was one of the best race directors I've ever known. Tough but fair, which is the perfect combination.

After Raceworld closed, rather than dumping their inventory or stuffing it in a storage unit to gather dust, Steve and Shirley traveled for years to several home and public raceways to be a parts source for the attending racers. That's how much they loved the slot racing hobby.

My sincere condolences to Steve, their son Chad, and all of the other members of the extended Harrington clan.

She was my favorite race director.

I always loved joking with her. She was a lot of fun.

My condolences to Steve, Chad, and family.

RIP.

Test, test, test, and go test some more.
You're never fast enough!!! 💯

Thanks, Greg; perfectly written.

The door to heaven was wide open for Shirley. Heart of gold and sharp as a tack.

River of tears from my heart today.

Let me add my condolences to Steve, Chad, and her family.

She and Steve would always bring the store to Heart of Dixie raceway. She was always friendly and helpful.

Another member of our slot car hobby that will be missed.

RIP, Shirley.

Thanks all the prayers and support of all of the slot car racers that we had met and been associated with in the past.
This is a hard time for me but with God's help, my church family, and the support of the slot racer family, I will be okay. Maybe in months to come I will be back to doing some racing myself.

Shirley and I had Raceworld from 2002 to 2012.
