I just completed this American Graffiti Ford Thunderbird slot car. The Thunderbird is from an AMT kit. The mystery blonde was made from an American Diorama figure. The chassis is a Monogram.
The Thunderbird body was primed and painted with Tamiya lacquer paints. The body was then clear coated with acrylic. Enamel paints were used on the driver figure.
A Mabuchi 16D motor was used along with a Monogram chassis. The wheels are Dynamic Pontiac drum brake wheels. They were opened up so the model hubcaps could be fitted. The wheel faces were painted white to simulate whitewall tires. Tires are urethane copies of Revell Dunlop tires.
The slot car is great for cruising and moderate speeds. Hope you like this one. It was a fun build. Next up will be the Police car.

Another nice build Rod! I always liked the small T-birds. Do you also have an AMT '57 T-bird in your collection?
