So I bought a 4WD/AWD whatever you'd like to consider it brass chassis Womp at an antique store. I've only ever seen one other on eBay. it has pressed-on pulleys on both axles for an O-ring driveline.

Were these factory or was that some kind of aftermarket hop-up? Must be early '90s, has a old-style Parma 16D, Jet flag, and orange foam tires all around.

It’s a factory set-up. I have a few of them kicking around.

Thanks! I’m assuming they didn’t do too many of them since I don’t see many floating around or everyone ditched the setup and went 2WD.

It was also sold as a kit, only a couple of dollars. I had one in the '80s... not the most useful thing I could think of, but I guess it's a novelty.

The kit included the two axles with pulleys permanently attached and an O-ring.

I’m sure it will work absolutely horrible when I try but yes a fun novelty!

After you rig the pulley/o-ring stuff, then make sure your front wheels touch the track, too.

When I had my raceway I used to play around with my 4WD Womp quite often. I had it down into the low 4 second range with a sealed Deathstar. I don’t know if the extra drive helped, but it didn’t hurt.

So got to try the womp the other and was pretty surprised how smooth and easy to drive it was. no chatter or hoping, probably the best womp I have! guess having old not very grippy front tires is the trick because when I swapped front to back it was horrible with all the traction up front.

Makes sense it wouldn't handle much differently if the fronts were slippery.

Good idea to try swapping tires.

Now I guess the ultimate test would be to have four grippy ones.

4 wide grippys was always the hot ticket for me.
