This is one of those "do I completely restore this, or leave it as raced and only fix the 'sore thumb' issues". After seeing what you did with the Chaparral, my vote goes to total restoration.

By the way, if you need pictures of the GT40, I have a bunch of GT/104 while high school chum Greg Lonberger owned it, as well as at the Shelby American Museum. Greg was part of the same car circle I was, and although we lost track of each other after school, we re-connected in vintage racing.

i was tempted but surprisingly it in pretty good shape and presentable after some polishing. i do really like the “as found” condition and patina. i think I’ll leave this one. i have a very rough looking chap on the way I’m sure I’ll attempt another full resto on that one. thanks for the kind words. This is one of those "do I completely restore this, or leave it as raced and only fix the 'sore thumb' issues". perhaps make my own flared fenders for the rear so i dont go crazy trying to make a mold and get the oem shape perfect again. maybe mold in the headlights and scribe some headlight lines. has cool steering front end but Ill probably save that for something else and just run the OEM wheels that I have a collection of.
