Does anyone have or know where I can find the instruction manual for the Team Cobra comm lathe that's pictured below? I've not been able to find anything online.

Pretty sure that is designed to cut the comm on a sealed R/C motor.

Cobra is/was a Utah company.

Yes, it is. I debated whether or not to ask here on Slotblog, but I know that Team Cobra made slot car tools, too, and that a lot of slot racers have also raced RC cars. So I'm hoping that someone on here can at least point me in the right direction.
The moderators can feel free to delete this if it's too far removed from slot cars.

I actually have that comm lathe new in the box but the instructions are not in the box. They should be in my stuff somewhere. I will see if I can turn them up.

Nothing on the first pass but I will look more tomorrow.
I do remember that you removed the brush hardware from one side of the motor and mounted the motor in the clamp then cut the com through the opening where the hardware was removed.

I'll check in my mess of a basement. Switch a Cobra R/C stock motor over to cut slot comms.

What do you need to know that you think a manual will provide?

Thanks, Eddie and Larry, whether you find it or not, I appreciate you checking.
Mike, I'm hoping to find setup instructions, that kind of thing, or possibly answers to questions that I don't know enough yet to ask. I've only used a comm lathe that's already set up, and you can see from the picture that this one does not have a cutter installed. I'm sure I can get it working, after a fashion, but not being really familiar with this sort of thing, if the information is available, I'd like to have it, for reference, if nothing else.

Are you planning to true comms in old style R/C motors?
Unless you fashion some sort of adapter for slot car motors, that's all this style of comm lathe is good for.

Chris Ferrel owned C&M mfg, he raced slot cars at our shop in Utah. He also happens to be a neighbor. Call me and I'll give you his number.

Thanks Don, I may take you up on that if Larry and Eddie don't have the manual readily at hand. I'm a little hesitant to bug people from companies that have gone out of business asking for information, since some I've tried to contact over the years don't seem to want to be bothered. But if you're sure he won't mind, that's definitely worth a try.
Mike, I am hoping to adapt this for slot car motors. It may be a semi waste of time, like that open motor I'm building with a Pro Slot Euro can, but I ran across the lathe cheap, and it spurred an idea for an experiment. Plus, my local raceway has been closed for the last month, moving to a new location, so I need some creative outlet.

Jason, I have had no luck. Something that old could be buried anywhere in my junk. If I turn it up I will let you know but don't hold your breath.

I have instructions for the slot car version if you have specifics of what your looking for I’ll upload pics theirs six pages
Thanks Mark, I'd appreciate it. I'm specifically looking for setup instructions, that sort of thing, but I'd be glad for the whole thing, if that's not too much trouble. I don't know how much difference there is between this and the slot car version, but I'd be willing to bet that there's enough overlap to be useful.

Those instructions are not for a sealed motor lathe. They are for a lathe that cuts the comm on a loose armature.

Yes, I know they're not for this exact lathe, but I believe the information I was looking for should be the same, or at least close enough that I can figure it out. However, if someone does have the exact instructions available that they would be willing to share, I'd be glad for them, too.
