I sorry to report my good friend Robert Israelite has passed away after a long fight with cancer.

Ol' Bob spoke his mind and tolerated no tyranny which tended to tick some folks off, but he had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor.

He brought retro '60s slot drag racing back to life in the last decade or so.

I miss him deeply and feel blessed to be his friend.

Rest in peace, Gator.

So sorry to hear this. Bob was quite the character but (like most of us) he loved slot cars.

Rest In peace in the big slot car track in the sky, Gator Bob.

I always liked conversing with Bob. He was always quite knowledgeable when it came to discussing Champion cars and parts. And he usually had photos that backed up what he said.

I know that over the years Bob had a variety of serious health issues. My condolences to his friends and family.

I didn't know Bob personally, but I am sad to hear about his passing.

Who will take up the scale racing torch when we old pharts are all gone?

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

You got to have beginner's & kid's classes in order to draw in "new blood" to continue to grow. When you cut off the head of a snake, it dies.

Hey folks,

Gator Bob's daughter, Michelle, asked me to share some info from the funeral home with his slot car buddies.

They are doing a remembrance of all the folks who passed last year. She added her dad's name to the list and a few pics, including a slot car track shot.

This will show there on December 4, 6:00 PM (eastern time I presume).

Here's the link she sent for the YouTube stream.I'm guessing you'll need to click on the "live" button.
