Here is a 1/24th scale MESAC Alfa Romeo GTA I just restored.  Victor says this body was very popular with the MESAC members.  Time for a track test.

The body was very warped and had lots of previous crash damage.  I managed to unwarp it as best as possible with lots of heat.  Plastic was added to a missing section on the rocker panels.  The corners were previously repaired and needed repairs again.  Quite a project.

A reproduction Cox driver figure, the missing Russkit mirrors, and an aluminum roll bar were added.

Note open rear quarter windows.

Russkit wheels and wheel inserts supplied by Victor.  Mid America soft rear tires.  Cox reproduction guide and a used Cox spur gear.

Motor is a Mura C-can with a Wasp armature.

A 1/16" brass drop arm was used.

Started with this center section.

Hi Rodney,

It looks to be another great resto-project.

Looking forward to more pictures.

I have not done any research yet, but I'm presuming this Alfa body is no longer available?!

Thanks for sharing.

Ernie

Thanks Ernie.  Most bodies run by MESAC members were made by MESAC.  Some of the bodies were copies of commercial bodies.  Many were made from custom molds.

I think this picture shows the Alfa mold.  I do not know if the body mold is an original or a clone.

Victor sent me this picture of the Alfa body mold.  Two-piece mold.
