If I take the quote from Dominic's report "This yearly event is a chance for the Retro East and NERR racers to get together for some great racing!"
I question how many of the eight events were held at Retro East locations and how many at NERR locations?
If it is truly an event to bring the two groups together, shouldn't the location of that event be shared by both groups over the years?

HVR was considered NERR and it rotated between HVR and Port Jeff. I took a pool of RE racers to see who would go to Modelville and got zero. Sorry but that's the way it is.

So, the Battle of the Colonies is just a name. It is not a race between Retro East and NERR or even a combined event, it is because just because someone says it is.
Since the names I was on the race report that were NERR racers are the same guys from NERR that often race at Retro East events, I see nothing that makes it a NERR-Retro East event.
So maybe it should be called what it appears to be, a Retro East event.
I am sorry if my ranting rubs some people the wrong way, but I seem to be on those people's bad side anyway and dancing is not my thing. I have been told by many different people from all over the world that I have an amazing raceway and yet some people seem to think I am the worst thing in the world.
I am sorry Modelville Hobby is not closer. I am sorry the local hotels are not just down the street. But I have not heard of anyone having to share their rooms with bugs. I am sorry Modelville Hobby runs races on tracks that are not perfectly smooth.
And if you care about this hobby, tell me what I have done to piss you off. Because without that information I will not change nor will I have the chance to explain why I am the way I am.
Please continue to support your local and favorite raceways.

Look I created this event to help the raceways during the summer. No one has had a problem with it except I guess you. After your rant I sure as hell won't be there god willing it I can ever race again.

Noose, I hope you do get to race again and many more times. Slot car raceways are a great place to be with friends and make new ones.
Thank you letting me know that because I question things that from now on you will not be coming to Modelville Hobby to race.
Modelville Hobby will continue to support NERR and will host a Retro event like no other, The Retro Marathon, starting on April 10th and running until the 13th.
Please continue to support your local and favorite raceways.

Rich et all- I believe the feeling here is that there are many NERR racers who attend RE events as exemplified by Dom being a member of the IRRA BoD and many well known NERR regulars have been frequent RE mainstays or at least an occasional appearance at RE events. Yet, conversely, RE regulars have almost never attended a NERR event on their off weekend.
I'm grateful to see participation where ever it occurs, and I know Rich does too.
Host whatever race you want and I hope it draws participation, I really do
I just think Rich is calling spades on the title of a Colonies event when historically New York isn't even New England and the tracks in the original colonies would enjoy racing with NERR as much as we enjoy coming to RE tracks.
Everyone wins!
