What motor springs are recommended for a G12 motor being raced on a high power track ( 3.8 to 14 volts)?
Motor springs for G12?

At PJ Raceway, which is pretty fast and with great power, for One Motor Cox 12, I would recommend Cahoza 3-coil springs.

Alleged amateur racer.
Mostly just play with lots of cars.
Able to maintain slot cars with a single bound.
Faster than a speeding Womp.
More powerful than a 36D.

I'm mostly using Camen 5-coil double overHead springs.

Champion springs go soft and lose tension, even on a medium power track.
If that's the case, i would use shunts and spring insulation.

That would be my second choice.

The 5-coils are too much, IMHO.

I'd suggest one of the 3-coil springs. Ones I've used are Dubick and Koford, and Cahoza is another choice. Due to Camen not having made springs in quite a few years, they'll be hard to find, and the only ones suitable for a G12 will be the "Light" springs. I've encountered recent motors where the spring post isn't long enough to fully support a 5-coil spring.

The Camen 5 coil with the half bend putting the spring brush contact right in the middle was Camen genious. Seems no one else knows how to do this and Joel is not telling!

Yes, the half-bend on the Camen 5-coils was a neat feature. The bent wire pillow blocks on the Camen Snapper chassis is some even fancier wire bending. 3-coil springs don't need the half-bend. If they're oriented properly with the long arm down against the hardware, the short end is in the middle where it needs to be.

Dave
If you can Find Camen Lite's 5 coil if not Cahoza 160's 5 coil work fine
