Anyone know the brand and model of this 1/32 body?
I installed a Dynamic chassis under this one. Powered with a slow Russkit 16D. Urethane rear tires. Nice driving car.

First glance said Lola GT, but it is too long and the rear fenders said Lotus 11. Are the rear tail lights round like the Lola?

It could be this?
The Mystery of the Gullwing Eleven
Although your body has a shorter nose and rear fender scoops, hard to see if the door openings are gull wing?
Your body could have a mid engine also?
More research needed.

Martin's on the right track I think - is it maybe some kind of Costin ?

Thanks Martin and Simon.

I do remember reading the story of this COSTIN-NATHAN effort. A good read if you like underdog stories? Doing more with less as I remember.
You can read here, and yes there is a Lotus and Marcos connection.

.......and if you have the time to go back in time there is this interview.

That's not the car. Already researched it. That car, believe it or not, was made of plywood. Six were built, the customer cars being called the Astra. But the rear half of the car is all wrong in my opinion.
This one has me stymied. I searched the net most of yesterday, and also this morning. Guess I'll have to dig into the books in the library upstairs.

If you read the link or listen to the interview I posted, plywood is mentioned.
After all the title is "THE MAN THAT BUILT A WOODEN RACE CAR....AND WON."

This is what I was thinkingAre we not sure that its not just a Cooper type 49 monaco that hasn't had the cockpit cut out & had the rear deck left unpainted making it look like a coupe? Cos that what it looks like to me.

Believe or not, I did think about that Lee and Mark. But then I went down the rabbit hole of finding a coupe.
So I can see that being a strong possibility. The missing gullwing door lines' did bother me.
Door lines serve as a kind of a thumbprint. These door lines fit Rods body better
But now I want a Costin- Nathan body with a wood chassis

One of the first places I looked was in one of my Cooper books. The body certainly looked like a coupe version of the T-49. All the shapes fit. But alas, no such car ever existed. I'm not going to spend any more time on this, even though it is burning in me to know exactly what it is. Hard to believe there is no info on a car that was interesting enough to be made into a slot car. The front works, and the rear fits.

It helps to have friends. This subject was bothering me so much, that last night I gave a call to a vintage racer who I thought was the only person who could answer it. And I think his explanation is the most likely to be true. During the United States Road Racing Championship, a Cooper 49 was fitted with a Coventry-Climax FWMV v-8 engine. The rear body section had to be made with a raised center area to clear the stacks of the V-8. The car recently went to auction in the U.K., restored to it's original four cylinder configuration. But the modified rear body section remained. My friend told me where to find a picture, and here it is. You can clearly see that the rear body section is higher than the other t-49s.
This is the Climax FWMV engine;
And on the dyno;

So, it seems like Lee was on the right track. Someone left the cockpit with a "roof", and masked a rear window area, all to drive us nuts trying to figure out what he did.
