will probably run horrible but looks cool.

This car may surprise you. The chassis looks well-constructed, but may be a bit light, The center of your chassis is a U-GO Smith. The body may be a Russkit.

Agree with Bill on this; you should be agreeably surprised, and may not even need much weight, depending on the track.
U-Go did in fact make an iso chassis - a great surprise since I had never seen one until about 10 years ago on ebay, when a series of them popped up, and I now have 3 or 4! Haven't run one yet, but they should run well.
Not sure I have one in the photo library, but I'll try to take a pic; not sure if your's is based on that or converted from a regular U-Go chassis.

thanks for the info! wonder if they sold these as just a center section? my iso pivot holes where filled with solder and seemed factory.Just took a couple pix of the U-Go iso chassis. Mark, looks like your's could well be adapted from this one. In any case, they always seemed to use that basic center section.

I kind of doubt it, Mark, but the center section was almost the whole chassis and they sold a lot of their basic chassis.

Thanks for the info. guess my display U GO blue tigers on the back are fitting then. I’ll pretend this was a Bay Area thingie. There were three main designs of the U-GO chassis each with two motor bracket options one for 16d/300 Hemi motors the other for 26d motors . The one Don shows is the hardest to find. I'll post photos in a while.

I don't have a U-GO chassis to check, but is that 3-hole cross plate at the front of the motor box for mounting Dynamic body mounts & their bracket?

Yep, that's what I would guess as well.

With silicone tires, Mark's car would have been legal to run when I started commercial racing in '67. The only rules we had back then were 3", or there about, wheel widths, & 1/16" chassis clearance. When those big Champion guide weights were used, we always had to cut a clearance hole in the body nose. If you got beat badly one week, hopefully you had, or could buy, a faster car for the next week. I raced for two years using these rules. It was truly a "Run what you Brung" class.

I don't believe I've seen either of the U-GO Swing Chassis that have a drop arm.

Thanks Lee, that would explain it. Those were probably made before the term Iso became popular. When I saw the words "drop pickup arms" used in your post #16, I automatically thought of a solid piece & a hinge.

Very impressive looking on the track Mark.
