Alright folks, the Mid-America controller has been out for awhile now and a buddy of mine has broken his. Seems that he needs a brake pot. I have tried matching the numbers on the back of the pot but have no luck. My only info seems to be that it is a 1k pot.

So before I try emailing Roger to get info, does anyone have a line on replacement parts?

Measure the resistance of the old brake pot with a multimeter then you will know what resistance rheostat you need.
For most controllers, either the Difalco DD807 3 ohms or the DD836 5 ohms does the job.

have you cleaned the brake contacts? Dirty contacts often causes problems.

It is Saturday night and if someone had a lead I might buy a bunch to keep in personal stock.

The low value pots, typically around 5 ohms, that David mentions are for the pure resistive brake circuit that Difalco and some others have used. Some of the newer digital controllers like the M-A and Third Eye use some sort of electronic brake circuit, and 1K would be more likely. As David mentioned, if you have an ohmmeter, measure it. However, if you're familiar with one of the electronics distributors, you know there's quite a selection in 1K pots which will take some effort to select. As has been already suggested, try M-A and see if they have a replacement or can suggest one.

if you can read it, sometimes you can tell from the part no. (e.g. 102 = 1k) or google it if it's just a mfr's. p/n with no relation to value.  if part of it's fried, you can usually make a pretty good guess by turning it up halfway and reading the side that's sill good.

In the process as we speak.

Note that the MidAm pots are much smaller than DiFalco's and likely a different value as well, thus  they are not interchangeable,
