Members of the Doghouse Gang gathered once again on this date, this time to see who is the JK Indy Car Champ -- at least, temporarily.

It was a smaller-than-usual crowd this time, as some guys were unable to make it. Dan, Dr. Bob, and Eric, to be exact. But the guys who could make it were ready to race:

L to R: David Erickson, Marty "Dr. C." Cwiakala, "Fast Richard" Sylvester, Bob Arneson, and Jim Beasley (wearing my Last-Gasp-of-Summertime shirt)

We love the JK Indy Cars. They handle so well, even at consistently high speeds.

As usual, we ran three races. Since we had five racers and only four lanes, we had to run five round-robin heats, three minutes each, so that each driver could drive all of the lanes. Having five also enabled us to use the driver who was sitting-out at the time to corner marshal. Of the three races, we take the two highest lap totals and add them together.

On this day, "Fast Richard" lived up to his nickname. Although I managed a second, my nickname will soon be "Crash." You can figure it out for yourself.

As always, we enjoyed getting together -- even though the absent drivers were missed. Maybe next month.

We will likely run another JK Indy Car race in October on the 26th (tentatively). We hope to see the whole gang on-hand again.

Absolutely! These are some of the best cars we have that don't wear a GTP body. They handle surprisingly well. They make for a great class. Again, we leave our stock. If we replace anything, we still keep the same motor, same gearing, tires, body style, etc.

Loads of fun. I'd recommend that any club give them a try for a while. I think you'll like them as much as we do.

John, wasn't you going to buy one of these JK Indy cars at 1010? I thought you already had one.
