Who knew? It looks too "factory" to be some sort of dealer installed trim level....

Aftermarket trim kit, probably.

And where's the Vogue tires?

I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

I think it needs the rest of the maple trim;

Or better yet, real wood. The contact paper fake wood doesn't weather well;

(I could have a lot of fun with the digger in the background!)

Where it all started;

My son and I went to a Barrett Jackson auction in Florida. On the auction block was a car that was supposed to be a tribute to the station wagon in the National Lampoons Vacation movie. Wood grain contact paper that was sort of peeling etc. Very poorly done. Somebody paid $92,000 dollars for it!

Some people will buy anything. My first full time job was working for Tom Edwards Chevrolet, one of two Chevy dealers in my town. ( the other was Celozzi-Ettleson ) Jimmy Long was the owner. He made big bucks by taking rusted out trade-ins and "gyppering" them out to look like pristine cars. He would have the body shop grind out the worst of the rust, then schmere Bondo on a piece of cardboard, and stick it over the hole. They would then grind away the cardboard and finish the surface out.

I was walking through the body shop one day, and saw Jimmy watching a body man do his bidding. I stopped and asked him, " How can you sell a car like that?"

His response, " There's an *** for every saddle".

By the way, Jimmy got caught pulling some hokus-pokus at his dealership, and did time in the Illinois slammer. When he got out, he opened a used car lot, (with a body shop), in Carol Stream, Il.  Since he was banned from selling cars in Illinois, he put everything in his son's name. Also named Jim.

Call me old school, but I prefer this Bluebird that was spotted at Road America.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

Looks like a candidate for the "LeMons" class at Pebble Beach.
