I've been repairing local Carsteen CS4.2 controllers and along the way have come up with a couple simple modifications.

1) Longer and more flexible cable between base and controller

Cable is 1M long with TPU jack, much more flexible and cut resistant the the stock PVC jacket

2) 3d printed track holder with magnetic tool caddy, file by NickM

3) Mush button to momentarily cancel out Choke 1 and Choke 2

I've worked on a couple older Carsteens, here is another that came in with a ton of problems and is all sorted out. Had issues with brakes, fan voltage regulator, and wanted anti-brake added to it.

Let me know if you've done any mods to your Carsteen! I'd be interested in learning about them. It is hard to beat this controller for the price. Most anything I've looked at is 2-3x more to get something more capable.
