It seems odd to complain when someone sells you what they say they are, but.

The last few sets of JK tires I bought were almost exactly the size they were labeled to be. So what is to complain about?

For years, I bought .820" rears and .750" fronts and they measured something like .840" and .775" or something like that. JK lists rear tires at .840 but only on .600" rims. and no oversized fronts at all. These all work but I like to start off with a bit more rubber on new tires so I can adjust and/or practice.

What size tires do you want coming out of the tube new? As stated or something over?

I tried to email JK but my email got bounced back undeliverable.

The JK stuff is definitely much closer to advertised size the last while. I guess that means better QC, but I would like them to start off a bit bigger as well.

I find the same thing with Kelly Retros lately, too.

Yeah, ya needs a bit oversize initially so you can true 'em down to a desired size. I always trued mine down to .825- .830" so I could practice a bit and still pass tech.

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

honestly - if I buy a set of tires, I would expect them to be a minimum of the size stated on the label. if it's exact, great. if it's over, great. As long as it's not under.

This is why they invented tire truers.

If you think it's bad for retro tires, try wing tires. they're not even round most of the time.

I don't experience out of round tires much at all, but I've had a few with bent or otherwise unround hubs right out of the vial. I wonder how that happens? It's like someone tried then, bent the hubs, then put them back into the vial for the next sod to buy.

I've had a few sets with the plastic rim that was bent. But since it was barely detectable, didn't find any real problems with them. Still, I kept those aside for use only during practice.

Most likely the rims get bent from being bulk packed by the sub-contractor making them. Some of the plastic rims that are at the bottom of the box are bound to get bent. The solution would be to cell pack the rims, but that is real expensive.
