Morio Hashimoto, one of founding members of Retro Tokyo (Tokyo D3) and a great painter, builder, and racer for many years, passed away recently.

He had a warm personality and was loved by everyone. So sad, may he rest in peace...

In the '90s he often participated in USRA Nats and so on. Especially Alpha Holiday Classic was his favorite. He won secind place 1998 Grp 27.

Obviously, I did not know him but it is always so sad when one of our good slot racing buddies and fellow racers passes away.

May he rest in peace and My condolences to his friends & family as well.

I never met him either, but I do recall seeing his paint work on J-Slot. I believe it was wing bodies first, then later scale bodies. I may have that reversed. My condolences to his friends & family.

Morio liked us to call him Mario.
We called him Hacchan.
He is one of the nicest persons I’ve ever met in my life.
He was always nice and kind to all.
He was a real craftsman.
Around 30 years ago, I promised him to go to the States to race wing cars together but my promise was never materialized.
When Gary Gerding installed a king track at my place in Tokyo in 2010, Hacchan came to the track and he sniffed the track, telling me, “ This is the King Track!!”
He is missed by all of us.
Rest in peace, Hacchan.

Where do we go from here: chaos or community?

Just too early.

I was born in 56 and this is just to early to go.
