I never had any of these. With younger siblings around, my mother would have never allowed them in the house.

Just the opposite in my house. My younger brother and I were both into monster themed toys. He was more into movie monsters, and I was more into car monsters, although he got into that as well. No resistance from mom and dad, as long as we were getting along and not vandalizing neighbor's property.
