Eddie:
I thought it was one of the best Nascar races I've ever seen. It finally wasn't gerrymandered by last minute caution flags and 2-lap shoot outs. There were a lot of elements in play the whole race and I enjoyed it.
One thing I didn't really understand was the business right near the end and the announcers kept talking about "two Chevys" blocking. All I recall seeing was Byron doing a great job of blocking the two cars behind him to save his shot at the playoffs, which was legal and pretty exciting to watch, and even a bit surprising that nobody just put the bumper to him and pushed him off.
Then of course there was the Wallace flat tire and Bell wall riding thing. What I didn't fully understand about that was Wallace really did have a tire down (hard to fake I think) and once Bell passed him he was in the playoffs. From what I could see he didn't have to punch it while on the wall, but he did, so he was in fact in violation of the rules, maybe he didn't realize what the situation was? My thought on that was that I would have let both Byron and Bell into the final race, as from my point of view the wall riding thing had no real effect on the outcome.
Finally there was Blaney really making a great drive to win, and with a lot of drama from bad pit stops and such just thrown in to make it all exciting until the last.
I do agree with you about not being a big fan of the way they do the playoffs as it kind of comes down to a "winner" take all last race, but as you said it is what it is.
