Who would have though ten years ago that we would be talking about Hyundais as bonifide performace cars? This article from the Hagerty bulletin blindsided me;

https://www.hagerty....ictures-specs/?

Of course, I would be unhappy knowing that a hotter engine is available, even if only on the full boogie race car. But if the 0 - 60 times are somewhere in the mid 4 second range for the showroom car, that is respectable. A neighbor kid that I have started an e-mail exchange with alerted me about this article. (at 4:00 am this morning) He is about at the same place I was with cars when I was his age. Souping up friends cars. Most of those Asian hot rods. But he is a bit of a genius with mechanical and electrical stuff. He found a way to modify his electric go-Kart to run on two batteries hooked in series. I believe that makes 48 volts. Anyway, it is faster than a fart in a windstorm. He says they clocked it with a radar gun at 80 MPH.

Anyway, if a manufacturer is willing to spend money making a more attractive ICE powered speedster, that is encouraging.
