That no one on this forum has said anything about the re-branding of Jaguar. The 1st ad is getting serious vitriol on the various sites.

I think this ad was shot over the bow, and it won't even be close to the same thing in the next ad. If not, they just ruined the brand's image.

What are they re-branding as: Home appliances? Lawn & garden equipment? Bourbon?

OH! I think I know: Reliable automobiles!  :D

Their response to criticism on Twitter/X was a real gem.

since I have not seen any ad for them I would like a clue as to how you think they are rebranding.

I don't keep up with all the sales and mergers in the corporate world. To my knowledge, Jaguar Land Rover is owned by a company in India after several years owned by Ford in which the Mustang was remade on a Jaguar platform and all the legacy cars were replaced by sport saloons. My last exposure to Bentley was a review on "Grand Tour" (believe Jeremy Clarkson was driving it), and this vehicle was a 5000 lb. luxury SUV with enough horsepower to make it seem "sporty". The economic sense (maximizing profit) is for JLR to create the Jaguar marque on the same SUV platforms as Land Rover, albeit more luxury ones. Perhaps that's the plan. For a world that seems to currently be infatuated with SUV tanks (I call them "toads", since in many cases they look like one), that may well boost sales.

The only cool Jaguars are either big cats or old cars, and when I say old, I mean old-old.

Think or say what you will but I can not see this thing being a success in any way.

Jaguar itself announced a rebranding.

My 11th grade biology teacher drove a silver v-12 E-Type. She was very stylish in every way. Back in the early 80s she moved to Toas, New Mexico. Truly

My sister, when she moved to Plumas County, California, probably had the only XK8 in the county. She stopped driving it because in an area where pick-ups, 4X4s and Subarus are the main vehicles you would see her Jag stood out... She didn't like the attention it brought and wanted to blend in. She ended up buying (and keeping the Jag for a time) a Jeep Cherokee and when that crapped out a Toyota Highlander....
