A 19-who-knows-what-year Jaguar 420.

The owner daily drives it, as I see it almost every time I ride by or stop at my favorite sandwich shop in Hinsdale.

I may have posted about this car many years ago.

The 420 was in production from 1966-68, but if there's a way to tell what exact year it is from visual cues, I don't know them.

That's a great-looking sandwich!

I'm disappointed. I was expecting a Model T.  :wink3:

Cheater worked for a Jaguar parts seller for a long time and has edited a Jaguar club publication for nearly 10 years.

Right hand steering. How fun! Can't say I like saloons much. Put a Corvette 327 and BW T-10 in a Mk 10 once. Not sure why, but that is what the guy wanted. A Mk 10 is close to the 420 model.

I too thought it was going to be about an early Ford. Seems to be his current affliction.  Forgot he was involved with JCNA.

Things are happening on that front, Mike. You should give me a call.

Ask him how many Jaguars he has. Bet I have more.

In my glory years, I also was an editor for a couple British marque clubs, as well as secretary to two, plus a board member, secretary and asst. editor to the VSCDA. Having come out of all that with my life, I can assure you that just being the editor of a marque club newsletter is all the excitement most people can handle. You don't need a car.  :heat:

That's a great-looking sandwich!

Yes, it was.

It's the Hinsdale outpost for Fontano's, an iconic grocery store/sandwich shop in the old Italian neighborhood near U of I, Chicago Circle Campus.

They are closed on Monday,  so going on Tuesday meant the bread was most likely going to be real fresh, which it was.

I had to go back earlier today to retrieve my hat, so I took the time to check out the interior.

Can interiors have patina or just the body?

Notice the keys left in the ignition. LOL.

Too unique for someone to steal.

I have a girl cousin that always leaves her car keys on the dash. She has been driving longer than me, and never had a car stolen. And she drives some pretty nice cars. I, on the other hand, have had three broken into. The Roadrunner, a '79 Honda Civic, and an '89 Chrysler LeBaron GTS. Fortunately, in each case the perp wasn't able to get away.

Good thing about old interiors; you don't have to worry about leaving your used Kleenex on the seat.
