Wing car racer Alan L. Harley, 71, of Port Washington, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at home.
He was born on June 29, 1953, to the late Martin and Betty (Schwittay) Harley in Milwaukee and graduated from Boys Tech.
He had gotten an internship at Allis Chalmers. In 1977, he moved to Marinette, Wis. On June 6, 1978, Alan married Roberta Anderson. He had worked at KSU and Scott Paper. In 2003, Alan moved back to Milwaukee and worked for Ball, retiring in 2015.
He enjoyed slot car racing, listening to music, and traveling on his motorcycle.
Alan is survived by sons: Albert Harley of Marinette and Martin (Lisa) Harley of Suamico, Wis.; daughter, Faith Harley of Marinette; granddaughter, Kristy; brothers: John (Jane) Harley of Milwaukee and Jim Harley of Marinette; sisters: Arlene (TJ) Ray of West Allis, Wis. and Karen Harley of Milwaukee; nieces: Erika and Priscilla; nephew, Brennan; and his ex-wife, Roberta Harley.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Renoll.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Friday, December 20 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 6 p.m.
