Here is the last chassis of the year, built specifically for my Bugatti 35 made by the Pactra brand

It's not easy to accommodate an engine under this bodywork if you want to keep the seats to accommodate a driver.

And since I wanted a realistic and well-balanced car like a real 35, I really spent a lot of time on this chassis trying several types of engines.

I ended up finding a Pittman engine, which I mounted upside down to gain height.

For the aluminum rims of the 35, I used classic industries rims, modified, cut in half, and assembled with a machined part.

Even though they don't have the same number of sticks, it looks very similar.

And to make this type of bodywork a little more desirable, I made a fuel cap, a steering wheel and the dashboard in aluminum, and finally, the radiator also had a metal coating.

Beautiful old school chassis. The motor placement looks to work well.

When painted it should be an outstanding car. I look forward to post of that part of the build.

Thank you all for your comments

I wish you an excellent year 2025

I have made good progress on the details, dashboard, steering wheel, radiator protection, steering link, radiator cap.

I remade a driver, because having found a decal sheet of the winner of the first Monaco Grand Prix, it is now William Charles Frederick Grover who will take his place at the wheel of this Bugatti 35B.

Not wearing a headband while racing, but a cap that he wears backwards, I had to make a cap using Sintofer and aluminum sheet for the visor.

Originally I was thinking of painting this car blue, it will ultimately be painted pale green, the color chosen by its driver, better known under the pseudonym “Williams”, whose father is English, and whose mother is French.

An extraordinary destiny for this talented pilot who took an active part in the resistance with the Bugatti pilots, Robert Benoist, Jean Pierre Wimille and other employees of the Bugatti factory.

Arrested and deported to the Sachsenhausen camp, near Berlin, he was executed by the Nazis in March 1945.

This Bugatti chassis number 4914 still exists, never restored, it was formerly repainted blue.

I do enjoy following the research and discovery that goes into this build.

Love all the museum quality details.

I would love to learn how you made your steering wheel. I made one myself for my Alfa 158 project, but I am always ready to learn from a master.

This is mine. I turned this one on the lathe then cut the windows etc. Is this your method?

Martin, to make the steering wheel, I did what I think you did, I machined it with my metal lathe, then I did a tracing, then I drilled small holes to pass small files through.

And then there is time to spend using the files, and if we are patient, we have a beautiful steering wheel adapted to our car.

I do like the steering wheel you did.

I was motivated to do mine as I wanted my driver to be removable, and for that to happen the steering wheel had to be removable.

So after breaking the plastic one twice (that came with the kit) it made sense to make a stronger one.

I do think your metal parts add quality to your build. Look forward to seeing progress.

Here are the photos of my completed Bugatti 35 Pactra.

As well as a short video, after stopping by the club on Wednesday.

Small disappointment, upon receipt of the decal sheets, two numbers 12 are missing for the hood as well as a license plate.
