Lloyd will be remembered for his outstanding pattern and mold making in both slot and R/C bodies and racing.
He was the master pattern maker at Lancer in the '60s as well as Kirby, Associated, and others after leaving Lancer. Lloyd was one of the three founders of MAC in 1970 which was later sold to Parma International in 1974.

Sad news, he will most definitely be remembered.
Commiserations to his family.

Mr. Asbury set the standard for quality slot car body molds while at Lancer and the subsequent companies he worked for. A quality standard that exists to this day.
During his time at Lancer each new release was looked forward to with anxious anticipation by track owners and slot car hobbyists. "What's new from Lancer?" was heard.
The releases reflected 1:1 cars that were making headlines at the time and became equally successful on scale-sized tracks: the Lola T-70, various versions of McLaren Can-Am cars, and the penultimate slot racing sports car form—the TI-22.
One series that was my favorite that he did was a group of late ’60s Indy cars. A nice group of NASCAR bodies at the time were created with his hands.
He had a standard of quality and detail that was envied and prevails to this day. Lloyd thanks for the memories and the Lancer and other legacies.

Sad news for the world of slots, the quality of these creations is of a very high level.
The Lancer bodies are my favorite, the details are incredible.
I even refused to paint my GT40 that I drive, so I could admire the details.

So very sad to hear, Your dad was a great friend to my dad, John Hale of Santa Ana Raceways. He would come in quite often and shoot the bull with the guys.
I worked the counter there and always admired your dad's work and products.
Now, I would guess he is hanging out with my dad in heaven.
Missing them both. RIP.
