Mid-America controller and brushless

Problem is the brakes, I need to work around the PWM function of the brave circuit. Has anyone worked around it or found a way? I know there is a set of pads labeled full brake but I don't know if that will bypass the PWM or just default to max setting.
Any help here would be great.

Unless you redesign the controller's braking circuit, you've got PWM brakes. The brushless motor should still have brake effect with the pulsed ground, though perhaps "max" PWM isn't enough brakes? "Max" may not be 100% ground, which is what I expect "full brake" provides. If full/constant ground is what you're looking for, then that should do it. However, there's no way to adjust braking effect without using the PWM.

I am asking to see if anyone has worked on another method.

I've had a look at the controller user manual in the Mid-America store, and it states that when the control is at "Max", there's no pulsing, the brake FET is always turned on when brake is applied. PWM or any other brake circuit should work fine with brushless motors. However, brakes on a brushless motor are going through the reverse polarity diodes in the E-comm FET's, so there's additional diode voltage drops that don't exist with brushed motors. These diodes prevent the brushless motors from achieving the same direct ground as occur in brushed motors. No way around that, just the way it works in the slot car system.
PWM only pulses the brake FET to provide less than 100% braking effect. At 100%, "max" on the M-A controller, the circuit stops pulsing and turns the brake FET on whenever the brake circuit is engaged.

I use my Mid America controller with my brushless cars and the brakes work fine!! Are you sure you're not over geared for the motors? Most I have from 900kv all the way to 10 13,000 kv work fine with 7 to 10 tooth 64 pitch pinions.

No, I had an issue with the brakes kicking on when at the trigger travel start. I have since cured it with programming of the bl board. In post #1 it says "problem is the brakes". Do you happen to mean that the amount of brakes changes a whole lot with only a little bit of knob turn in one small area of the adjustment rotation which is the same issue with third eye controllers?

No, it was running very cool. I have fixed the issue. The voltage range for the board was too small causing the brakes to engage very abruptly and not coming on correctly. I have since fixed it.I use my Mid America controller with my brushless cars and the brakes work fine!! Are you sure you're not over geared for the motors?
