You don't see many of these driving around in the winter in Chicago.

Not these days, anyway. But there was a time when that might have been the owner's only transport. After all, I drove my E-type year round, And one of my BFF's forever at the time drove his Porsche 911E all year as well.
Looks good in silver. One in white sold at Scottsdale for, IIRC, $125,000. The honeycomb wheels were painted blue, which they said was not original. But I liked it.

I think it looks great in silver.
Way better than cliche(ish) Burt Reynolds Black. Lol

Although with a black one you stand a chance of "picking up" Forrest Gump's Momma!!

You probably don't see too many of them driving around in the summer, either.
I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

Actually, the Pontiac-Oakland Club Midwest Region is pretty active, with several shows and driving events throughout the year. They will often partner with other GM car clubs on events, and always have one of the largest gatherings of Firebirds at the July vintage races at Road America. This was their meet in St. Charles, IL., a few years ago;
The photo only shows only a small section of the show field. There was every variety of Firebird you could imagine.

No. Gosh-awfull color. I repainted a Firebird Formula that was that color. The guy built a pseudo-Trans Am out of it, with a well built 455 and Muncie M-22. I shot it white with the dark blue stripes. He didn't want the scalded chicken on the hood. Potant motor. After scattering two 12 inch GM rear ends, we changed it to a Ford 9 inch, with coil-overs and parallel trailing arms. I took some laps with it at Blackhawk, and was greatly impressed.

I wonder how many people realized I was teasing my friend Dave, with the Sky Bird comment. Lol

I suspected it. Even without the LOL or emojie. An acquaintance in the car hobby once owned the pink Firebird that was given to the Playboy centerfold of the year. I offered to repaint it for free, in any other color.
By the way, I had already shut down for the day when you posted that. Imagine getting up at 7:00a this morning, logging on, and seeing that photo.

Here's one in pink.
Easy answer. Because the Playmate comes with it.
