After scaring the bejesus out of us Jaguar fans with some advance concept drawings of proposed new models, which, personally I think were way out in left field, Jaguar has released some shots of a concept build which actually has some possibility of going into production. It's a new version of the E-Type, the model that solidified Jaguar's place in the high-end sports car world. They stuck with the basic shape, although giving some of the sensuous curves some hard edges. Changes I'm not happy to see. But I like it. It will be gas powered, but they intend on offering an all electric version called the "Growler." At least it is a long way from that "folded from cardboard" boxy look.

I don't think the wire wheels will be on any production version.

Now if you have a hankerin' for the original E-Type, Jaguar is offering totally reconditioned E-Types, rebuilt by the factory using all original parts and processes. They are buying up derelicts and barn finds and making them brand new cars again.

Great that they are re-birthing selected E-Types. As you say, very sensuous. Just need Emma Peel in the passenger seat.

You're probably right, Eddie. A timeless classic. and a great vintage slot car body style.

One of the first things that crossed my mind when I read about the Reborn cars, if they are rebuilt with a quality well above the original factory level, and the cars carry the original vin numbers, what if someone brings one to a national concours? How can it be judged with the same critical eye that is given to the non-factory restored cars? Not fair.

As to the new model, this shot shows the hard edges on the fenders I was complaining about. They can drop the side coves and vents as well by my opinion.

I have seen photos of another version of the proposed 2025 E-type, which by now would be a 2026 introduction or even later. I'll try to scare up some photos of that car. Either way, these are designs submitted to Jaguar by design studios. Nothing is chiseled in stone.

i always liked looking at car "porn". interesting amount of negative camber on the front wheels, even though wheels are straight ahead and the car appears to be unloaded. in a turn, that could make a bad situation worse. but, an attractive car non the less.

I wonder if I can make a mold from those pictures?    Just teasing.     Sexy looking car. I wish I could fit in one.

If you are any good at modelling in scale, you can certainly make molds from pictures. All you really need is a straight on side shot, and at least one known dimension you can use to scale all the other dimensions from. You also need a straight on front, and straight on rear, view. I've done this countless times while building railroad models. All I need is to know the diameter of the wheels, and good photos.

And Brian, if I could get into this car, (before arthritis kicked in), you can get into that Benz. The roof comes off.

The tough one was this Porsche 914/6. With a full cage, I had to get in and out through the driver's side window.
