Does anyone know the correct call out for the Atlas open inline motors ( small and large ) that have ball bearings on the arm shafts?

Thanks

If you mean the part numbers, the small 6V one with ball bearings is the AT-206 and the large one with BB is the AT-406.

Here's the AT-206 and the AT-208, which was the standard one on their 1/32 cars and the 1/24 F1s. The AT-206 was only sold aftermarket.

The larger motor was only the one version with ball bearings, as used on their first two 1/24 sports cars.

I used some Atlas motors in the 60's, but darned if I can remember what the numbers were. Did some reconnaissance on the web but didn't find a listing. Found individual motors, and could make up a listing if no one can find one.

This 1/24th scale Lotus open-wheeler  chassis has an Atlas motor in it. Built way back around 1964/65. Ball bearings on the axle, but not on the arm.

The only motor I could find with ball bearings on the arm is the  AT-206. But it comes with oilites for the axle.

I am just curious. How does one of these things run if you place modern can motor magnets on the side over the arm stacks?

Try it with another inline of the same configuration. Funny, I am planning on trying it with a 16-D. We can compare notes. We won't be charting unknown territory. I know dc65-× recharges magnets in this manner.
