I found an old article about building a controller & would like to do so. I have verry basic knowledge of circuits. I have a few questions about this one.

https://www.e-slotca...tcontroller.pdf

1. In the parts list it lists two miniature resistors 2R & 3R3 what are the values of these resistors?  (Funny the wiring diagram shows different R22 & R3 not sure what happened there.)

2.  In the parts list it also lists a miniature resistor 30R, but it does not show it in the wiring diagram??

3. What motors will this controller handle all up to group 27 & 7

I will be using the Parma 35 ohm. resistor any help would be apparated.

The value is in the description, 2R is 2 ohm, and 3R3 is 3.3 ohm.
There is updated description on this Controller. Contact Andy at ABSlotsport. https://abslotsport.biz

and tell him I sent You.

There is no 2R or 3R3 on the new chematic, but a 3 ohm that is connected to one of the pins on the Transistor..

the 3.3 ohm might be for protection of the fan if not using a fan board.

We are using this Controller for ISRA P24 (box12 motors), G27 and G7 I don't know, You might ask Andy about that.

I'm not any good at electronics either, but has build a couple of these that work nicely.

I do, but I have to sort them out. They are PDF's

These are only pictures but easy to follow to build a controller.

I also have the old schematics where You can see the resistor used for the Fan.

I will contact You trough the message board to get emails etc

This controller article shows using a MJ14003 PNP transistor which is obsolete and no longer manufactured. This transistor, if you can find one, is 60 amp and capable of powering anything through open motors. A still actively available 2N5684 50-amp PNP transistor would be a suitable direct replacement also capable of powering anything through open motors.

In the latest revised instructions the Transistor is changed to a 2N5684.

(Sorry Bill, I didn't read all of Your reply)

I ran one for years.  I used a 45 ohm because I liked it better.  Spend some time making sure the resistor you use is flat / smooth.  I ended up using JB weld and sanding it smooth.  (not easy)

Also info here but slightly different.

It's a fun project.  By the end you will either be  or have a better understanding of the basic controller :victory: .

Also the first one I built I sourced everything through Andy at AB Slotsport.  Second I built and made my own box like a carsteen.
