We decided to shake things up a little at The Doghouse this month.

The gang typically gathers on Thursday nights to play around, test our cars, and challenge to see who can drive the night's best car fastest. But on this particular Thursday night, we tried something a bit different --- JK Indy Car chassis with a coupe body. The chassis is box-stock. No changes whatsoever.

Needless to say, the cars handled beautifully. Quick and nimble with de-slots and crashes at a minimum.

It was the usual gathering of crazies. If you want to see faces, try checking a previous report, as I failed to take a photo. (Trust me. No big loss.)

Take a look at the cars:

Let me see if I can keep them straight, from L to R:

Front row - Jim Beasley, Eric Prevost, Bob Arneson, Dan Parker

Back row - Allen Evans, Richard Sylvester

Racing was a blast, as usual. We had a lot of good laughs along the way -- mostly at the expense of the usual racers who failed to show.

We ran two races -- two minutes in each of four lanes for everyone. After the second race, we examined the results to pull the best total from either race to determine the winner. When all was said and done, Dan Parker took the win -- beating my total by a single lap! Congrats to Dan:

We don't know if the once-a-month Thursday night race will become a regular event, much like our normal Saturday race. Only time will tell. But on this night, we all had fun and we all look forward to the next time.
