Thanks Dave, for all you do at the big events and, of course, the weekly races.  I agree, the photo of John Weaver's "Concours de Moche" winner did not do it justice.  The pieces of strapping tape on the outside of the body to keep the front from ripping off at the fender wells was the deciding factor :)

Well run event. I was blessed to be able to participate. I earned a slight redemption from my previous event on the MIle.

A truly great weekend!

See the YouTube stream, if you're of a mind to.  Link appears on the Modelville Hobby pages.  3 cameras,

and nicely directed.

Thanks to Richard Payne for pulling this all together.  And to Peter Lentros, for making this facility

possible, in a global sense.

For next year's Marathon, look for even bigger incentives for the historic/realistic Concours competition.  Also, we'll

have someone great in to perform the US national anthem.  And the Canadian anthem, if we have a

Canadian or two!

Are the celebration enduro and banquet restricted to those who raced during the year or open to others as well?  Also, do we know what cars will be used, teams, times, tracks, etc.  Really looking forward to it, I have missed all the previous ones.

Gil,

The plan is to use the brushless IROC cars with either DDS Ferrari bodies or the new Cobra Daytona Coupe bodies if we can find them.

We've discussed splitting the race between two tracks, potentially the Royal and the King.

To have enough racers the event will be open to anyone who is interested in participating.

Pre-registration will be required in order for us to determine interest and how to best balance the teams.

This event will be held in similar fashion to all NERR race days, starting around 9:00 am (no tech required) with the banquet beginning sometime in the early afternoon.

We will be posting more details as we get closer to the event.

All,

Please have a gaze at the recorded races from this event. I watched them from the Modelville website shortly after they happened and was really impressed with the quality of the broadcasts with three VERY clear camera angles, an immediate display of the scoring screen (from the computer) after the end of the heat and even an announcer during the heats!

Many, many thanks to Richard Payne; I was told he arranged all of this - if this is incorrect, please correct me.

It should be considered the high water mark for broadcasting slot car races!

It was very much appreciated as I got to watch Nelson Swanberg turn the ship around on his Sovereign track fortunes; you are, indeed, fully redeemed from your previous experience!

Keep it in the slot,

AJ

Sorry about the nerf. "Sorry? Sorry? There's no apologizing in slot car racing!"

Besides, where would I even begin?   I should probably start with my wife ...

"I don't often get very many "fast laps" but I very often get many laps quickly."

The only thing I know about slot cars is if I had a good time when I leave the building! I can count the times I didn't on one two three hands!
